Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge or Minesweepers, Sub-Chasers and Escort-Vessel War Badge (German: Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-, U-Boot-Jagd- und Sicherungsverbände).
Zinc construction with soldered on set up. Unmarked. Very good, worn condition.

Instituted on August 31, 1940. The badge was awarded to crew units of minesweepers, sub-chasers, and escort-vessel who met the required award criteria, i. e. participation in three operational engagements, or special distinction on sorties in the area of operations or another outstanding single act, or participation in operation that proved to be exceptionally successful (with the decision of the Fleet Commander of the Kriegsmarine, i. e. Admiral of the fleet) or for completing specific requirements of the relevant unit. The badge could also be awarded to survivors of a ship that has been lost due to enemy attack or in special cases to a wounded soldier.
