Controversial, most probably field made, odd Panzer assault badge. Crudely made. Non-magnetic. The pin is lost (almost always found without it). Based on existing knowledge, these badges are found only in Volgograd (former Stalingrad) and North Caucasus areas. Very rare.

Introduced on December 20, 1939, in order to recognize the achievements of tank personnel who took part in armored assaults (had actively participated in different armored assaults on different days). On June 6, 1940, a separate class of the badge, in Bronze, was added in order to recognize the crews of armored vehicles other than tanks (half-tracks, assault guns, etc), as well as other infantry, armored reconnaissance, and medical units serving with tank divisions. Since December 31, 1942, armored unit repair teams could also receive the badge in silver for repairing tanks in combat conditions on three different days
