Edmond Jocard, award document official translation to French.
Original award
document signed by the Chancellor of the Orders of the President's Office Pijus
Bielskus and the Head of the Orders Affairs V. Rutkauskas.
The translation is signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary E. Laucevičius.
A dry stamp of Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stamps the document.

Jocard, André Edmond
– French military officer, colonel (at the time of the award presentation). Captain
of an Artillery Regiment during the First World War, veteran of Marne and
Verdun battles. Came under chemical weapon (gas) attack, evacuated.
Since November 1918 Chief of Staff of General Frédéric-Georges Herr, the
Inspector General of Artillery. On October 31, 1919, called to the French
military mission of General Henri Albert Niessel in the Baltics to control the
withdrawal of German units. Responsible for stopping the attack of the
Lithuanian army in the battle of Radviliškis with Bermontians (West Russian
Volunteer Army) on November 22, 1919, and further execution of the commitments
made by the German government.
A veteran of the Second World War, imprisoned in various POW camps.
Recipient of many French and foreign military awards, including The Cross of
Commander of the Order of Vytautas the Great of Lithuania and The Order of
Lāčplēsis of Latvia.
