1934 Participant’s Badge for the Civilian and Military (SA and SS) Ski Championship at Berchtesgaden, manufactured by Carl Poellath, Schrobenhausen.
Constructed of silver-washed die-struck bronze with multi-colored enamels. The obverse consists of an oval laurel leaf wreath, surrounding an enameled depiction of a skier in mid-jump, overlaying NSDAP, German national, and German Ski Association (Deutscher Skiverband, DSV) flags, above an inscription of 'Deutsche und Heeres-Skimeisterschaften, Berchtesgaden 7.-12. Feb. 1934, SA u SS Ski-Meisterschaften'. The reverse with a vertical pinback, maker marked 'C. POELLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN'.
Rare and desirable badge in very fine condition.
