Private purchase Heer Infantry Officer's field cap made of fine field grey wool in excellent, mint condition.

The body of the cap shows no wear or damage. The silver braid to the top edge of the scalloped panels, denoting an officer rank, is intact, with no issues. The front of the field cap is complete with a set of correct insignia, all original to the cap. Flat wire Heer eagle and swastika emblem with a light green backing and a very nice, higher quality, bullion Officer's national tri-color cockade. White-colored soutache denoting service in an infantry unit is sewn in place and correctly inserted through two puncture holes. Inside, this side cap is lined with a cotton twill fabric, which shows only light discoloration to the edges. The cap retains its original, light brown, leather sweatband in excellent condition in the forehead area.

This desirable Infantry officer cap is in outstanding condition, with little or no trace of ever having been worn.

The lining is marked for size 57.
