Wehrpass issued to Ferdinand Taufmann, enlisted on December 12, 1940, at 19./(Flugmelde-Ers.) Lg. Nachr. Rgt. 2 Warschau.
From December 1940 until July 1944, F. Taurmann served with several Luftwaffe Signal units. In August 1944, he was transferred to 3. Lw.Wachbtl.BII, a guard unit of the Mittelbau (Dora) concentration camp, a subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp. The SS took over the unit in September 1944 as 3.SS-WachKdo. Mittelbau, later renamed 3. SS-T-Stuba Mittelbau, albeit F. Taufmann was transferred to 4. SS-T-Stuba Mittelbau on September 1, 1944, where he served until December 31, 1944.
The post-war fate of this individual remains unknown, but it holds excellent potential for further research.
Wehrpass is complete, with an ID photo of the owner in a civilian suit.
The document shows minor signs of use and wear, and the cover page is perforated for storage (probably by Soviet security agents).
