Wehrpass issued to Obergefreiter Eugen Schirra, enlisted on June 30, 1940, at 2./L.B.Batl. 4/VII

From June 1940 to May 1944, E. Schirra served with several Luftwaffe units (Norway, Germany, Crete). In May 1944, he was transferred to 3./Lw.-Wachbtl.B/II, a camouflage name for the guard unit of the Mittelbau (Dora) concentration camp, a subcamp of the Buchenwald concentration camp, attached to the secret underground V-weapon factory near Nordhausen (Harz), then code-named 'Sonderinspektion (Jägerstab) Nordhausen'. The SS took over the unit in September 1944 as 3.SS-WachKdo. Mittelbau, later renamed 3. SS-T-Stuba Mittelbau, albeit E. Schirra was transferred to 4. SS-T-Stuba Mittelbau on September 1, 1944, where he served until December 31, 1944.

Active engagements and operations listed in the Wehrpass include:
Deployment in Norway.
Reported at Fürth-Burgfarrnbach Air Base (Military Airfield).
Deployment in the home war zone (in Germany).
Transfer to (deployment) Creete (Greece).
Re-deployment in the home war zone.

The post-war fate of this individual remains unknown, but it holds excellent potential for further research.

Wehrpass is complete, with an ID photo of the owner in a civilian suit.
The document shows minor signs of use and wear, and the cover page is perforated for storage (probably by Soviet security agents).
