World War I period skull ring, known in German as 'Totenkopfring', with unusual, very rarely seen ring band design with oak leaves and acorns.
The ring has no hallmarks inside, for reasons yet unknown, although it is most probably made of silver. The skull and bones on the ring head are not made of precious metal, but gilded.
Totenkopfrings were very popular among German Army troops during World War I and World War II as well.
Excellent condition, very rare design ring (the design that may take another few years to be found again for sale).
