Ring of the member of Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) or Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), depicting stylized trident on the front plate, on the dark blue background. These rings were produced during strict conspiration, by soldiers themselves with simplified technology using gun shells, destroyed vehicle or plane parts, trophy rings of German or Soviet soldiers.
The ring may have also belonged to a soldier of the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Galician) (German: 14. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS [galizische Nr. 1]), since OUN (under command of A. Melnik) actively participated in the formation of the latter as well.
Very good condition. Made of brass. Very rare. 20,4 mm in diameter.
