Group photo of Lithuanian partisans, also known as Forest Brothers. The photo was taken in the forest. Partisans themselves are somewhat hardly visible, albeit identified as possibly being Trimitas squad partisans, of the Vytautas region, Liūtas unit, Erškėčio company. Munitions used by these particular partisans however are clearly seen: a rifle, PPSh-41 submachine guns, and a German M24 infantry hand grenade.
Partisans captured in the photo were identified as possibly being (from left to right): (1) Jonas Juotka-Vėžys, commander of the Trimitas squad, killed by Soviets on April 14, 1951, in Tautiškio village, Utena County, (2) unidentified, (3) Juozas Klevas-Aidas, killed on March 22, 1951, in Lygalaukių village, Molėtai district, (4) Kazys Gaidelis-Trimitas, killed on April 14, 1951, in Tautiškio village, Utena County, (5) Antanas Sniegėnas-Viršaitis, killed on March 22, 1951, in Lygalaukių village, Molėtai district, (6) indiscernible.
The photo is somewhat faded and stained, with signs of age.
The photo reverse is blank. Approx. 8.3 x 5.7 cm
