Ground dug M40 single decal SS combat helmet. The helmet has its original Waffen-SS ET runic decal. The decal still remains up to 70% of its original coverage and is fully visible. The helmet retains its original liner and chinstrap. Reinforced, double frame earlier type aluminum liner band, manufactured by Schuberth Werk, Braunschweig in 1939, size 62 (leather liner size - 55). The liner and split pins on the helmet are original to the helmet, albeit the small reinforcement frame pins seem to be newly replaced and do not match the correct ones. The leather of the interior is somewhat stiff with minor damage around the liner band. The felt supporting strip is partially lost. The buckle of the chinstrap is rusty, leather stiff. The only stamp visible is "74" on the underside of the rear skirt. Originally found at the former locations of SS-Division "Nord" in Karelia.
