Polish 'Eaglets' Badge of Honour (Polish: Odznaka Obrońcom Kresów Wschodnich „Orlęta”) for the defense of Lwów (now Lviv, Ukraine) and the Eastern Borderlands in 1918–1919.

Good condition, albeit back screw-plate is missing.

The ‛Eaglets’ Badge of Honour was awarded during the interwar period to those who fought to defend the city of Lwów and the Eastern Borderlands during the Polish-Ukrainian War.

The badge depicts four stylized outlines of eagles, forming the arms of a cross with rays between them. In the center of the badge is the coat of arms of Lwów, in a round medallion, surrounded by the inscription OBROŃCOM KRESÓW WSCHODNICH (For the Defenders of the Eastern Borderlands). The badge was struck from brass, silver-plated and patinated. Each recipient of the badge also received a certificate. The badge was established on 18 March 1919 by General Tadeusz Rozwadowski, commanding officer of the Polish ‘Eastern’ Army. The general presented the badge personally and the certificate bore his signature. The badge was approved in the Journal of Orders of the Ministry of Military Affairs (now the Ministry of National Defence) no. 49 item 872 of 13 December 1921.  After the General’s death in 1928, no one else was entitled to award it.
